A Jordanian passport opens 49 of 227 destinations without a prior visa: 23 fully visa-free, 22 with a visa on arrival and 4 with an electronic travel authorisation. By count it is a weak passport, but its geography is handy: Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Central Asia and Thailand.

Since 13 December 2025 Jordan and Russia have had visa-free travel: a Jordanian citizen enters Russia without a visa for up to 30 days per trip and up to 90 days a year. Europe, the UK and North America remain visa-only.

Where you can go visa-free with a Jordan passport

Entry regimes differ in how much preparation the trip needs. Visa-free means the passport is enough and the permitted stay is set at the border. A visa on arrival means a fee and a stamp at the airport or checkpoint. An electronic travel authorisation is a short online form and fee before departure. An e-visa is also online but involves a check and a consular decision. A regular visa means a form, documents, often a personal visit to the consulate and waiting for a decision.

The Jordanian passport is strongest for Russia, Turkey, the Caucasus, Central Asia and Arab neighbours: Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Syria, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Africa, Rwanda, Ecuador, Suriname, Barbados, Dominica, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Haiti and Kosovo are visa-free. Armenia, Indonesia, the Maldives, Mauritius, Cambodia, Nepal, Tanzania and Ethiopia give a visa on arrival. Kenya, Sri Lanka, the Seychelles and St Kitts and Nevis need an electronic travel authorisation, and the UAE, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, India, Vietnam, Singapore, Qatar, Oman, Morocco, Colombia and the UK an e-visa. It is weak for Schengen, Ireland, the USA, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Australia and almost all of Latin America, which require a visa in advance.

The table shows the main destinations for travel, living and business, not all 227 countries and territories. An electronic travel authorisation is issued online within minutes or days; an e-visa is also applied for online, but it is a separate consular decision. Entry rules change several times a year: check with an expert for your trip.

Schengen, the UK, the USA and Canada

Schengen. A Schengen visa is required, issued by the consulate or visa centre of the country you travel to.

United Kingdom. A visa is required; you apply online and give biometrics at a visa centre.

USA. A visa is required after a consular interview. Jordan is not on the US entry restriction lists in force from 1 January 2026.

Canada. A visa is required, issued at a visa centre with biometrics.

Russia and Asia. Since 13 December 2025 Russia is visa-free for up to 30 days per trip for tourism, private and business visits. Turkey, Georgia, Thailand and Malaysia are visa-free; China and Japan require a visa.

What else a Jordan passport gives

The Arab world. A Jordanian citizen travels visa-free to Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia and Syria, and lives and does business in Jordan on equal terms with locals.

Dual citizenship. Jordan officially allows dual citizenship, so you keep your first passport.

Family. The investor's spouse, minor children and financially dependent parents receive citizenship together with the investor, with no extra investment.

Taxes. The passport does not make you a tax resident of Jordan: taxes depend on where you live, not on citizenship.

How to get a Jordan passport

The most affordable route is a new project outside the capital from JOD 500,000, about $710,000, creating 10 jobs for Jordanians: the investor first receives a 3-year temporary passport, then citizenship. Direct citizenship is granted, for example, for shares in Jordanian companies from JOD 1.5 million held for 5 years. You do not need to live in the country, speak Arabic or sit exams.

The family total is in our article on how much Jordanian citizenship costs.

Requirements, timelines and documents are on the page Jordan citizenship by investment.

A project from $710,000 and 3 years on a temporary passport

The law does not stop you applying for Jordanian citizenship on your own. But mistakes cost more than the fees: a project that does not create the required 10 jobs, a source of funds without documents, a business in the capital that does not count for the affordable route. We match your routes against entry rules, choose the investment route, prepare the business plan and documents, and handle the case up to citizenship.

The cost of support depends on the investment route and your family; a manager will calculate it in the chat.
