No. Each country counts its statistics differently, so areas are compared only within their own city.
Where do the figures come from?
3 kinds of sources: city and national statistics offices, OpenStreetMap and a digital elevation model. Every figure shows its year.
Does it show housing prices?
Yes, where the state publishes them: in Barcelona the average rent on new contracts in 2025, in Madrid the median rent in 2024. Lisbon has no open rent figures by parish.
How do I choose an area if I have never been to the city?
Yes, you can do it in advance: pick a goal, set a budget and compare 2-3 areas. Then check the street in person with the checklist from our guide to choosing an area.
