In short

A Grenadian passport gives entry without a prior visa to 148 of 227 countries and territories: the Schengen area, Ireland, China, Russia, Singapore, Hong Kong and almost all of Latin America, with the UK and South Korea by electronic travel authorisation. The USA, Canada, Japan, Mexico and Australia require a visa.

The Grenadian passport opens 148 of 227 destinations without a prior visa: 116 fully visa-free, 24 with a visa on arrival and 8 with an electronic travel authorisation. It is one of the strongest passports among the Caribbean island states that grant citizenship by investment.

What sets Grenada apart from its neighbours is visa-free entry to China under an intergovernmental agreement and a treaty with the USA under which Grenadian citizens can obtain a US investor visa for their own business. Schengen and the UK are open without a visa, and within the Eastern Caribbean union a Grenadian citizen lives and works without permits.

Where you can go visa-free with a Grenadian passport

Entry regimes differ in how much preparation the trip needs. Visa-free means the passport is enough and the permitted stay is set at the border. A visa on arrival means a fee and a stamp at the airport or checkpoint. An electronic travel authorisation is a short online form and fee before departure. An e-visa is also online but involves a check and a consular decision. A regular visa means a form, documents, often a personal visit to the consulate and waiting for a decision.

The Grenadian passport is strongest in Europe, China and Latin America: Schengen, Ireland, Cyprus, the Balkans, Moldova, Russia, Uzbekistan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Kenya, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Panama and the Dominican Republic are visa-free. The UK, South Korea and Israel require an electronic travel authorisation, and Turkey, Georgia, Thailand, Vietnam, India and the UAE an e-visa. Its weak spots are the USA, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, which require a visa in advance.

The table shows the main destinations for travel, living and business, not all 227 countries and territories. An electronic travel authorisation is issued online within minutes or days; an e-visa is also applied for online, but it is a separate consular decision. Entry rules change several times a year: check with an expert for your trip.

Schengen, the UK, the USA and Canada

Schengen. Grenadian citizens enter the Schengen area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180, without the right to work. Once the European travel authorisation launches, it will have to be obtained online before the trip.

United Kingdom. No visa is needed, but an electronic travel authorisation is obtained online before travel.

USA. A tourist or business visa is required. But Grenada is one of the few Caribbean countries whose citizens can obtain a US investor visa when they invest in and run their own business in the USA.

Canada. A visa is required, applied for at a visa centre with biometrics.

China and Russia. Both are open without a visa under bilateral agreements, which is rare for Caribbean passports.

What else a Grenadian passport gives

Life in the Eastern Caribbean union. A Grenadian citizen can live and work in Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines without a residence or work permit.

Dual citizenship. Grenada does not require you to give up your previous citizenship, so the second passport adds to the first.

Family. A citizenship by investment application can include the spouse, children, parents and, under certain conditions, the main applicant's siblings.

Taxes. The passport does not make you a Grenadian tax resident: taxes depend on where you live, not on citizenship.

How to get a Grenadian passport

A Grenadian passport is obtained by investment: a contribution to the national fund from $235,000 or a purchase of approved real estate from $270,000. The real timeline from filing to passport is about 7 months, with no residence or exams required. Applications go only through a licensed agent, and applicants are checked by international due diligence firms and police databases.

There are citizenship restrictions: since 31 March 2023 Grenada has not accepted applications from Russian and Belarusian citizens, with no exceptions. In addition, since 30 December 2025 the EU has an updated mechanism that allows visa-free travel to be suspended for countries that sell citizenship, so programme rules are checked before filing.

Requirements, timelines and documents are on the page Grenada citizenship by investment.

A contribution from $235,000, and a due diligence mistake costs a year

You cannot apply for Grenadian citizenship on your own: applications are accepted only through a licensed agent. But even with an agent, mistakes cost more than the contribution: a source of funds not backed by documents, property not on the approved list, a family member who does not qualify by age or dependency, and a citizenship from which applications are not accepted. We check your family against the programme rules before payment, prepare source-of-funds documents and handle the application up to the passport.

The cost of support depends on your family and the investment route; a manager will calculate it in the chat.
