An Egyptian passport opens 49 of 227 destinations without a prior visa: 21 fully visa-free, 24 with a visa on arrival and 4 with an electronic travel authorisation. It is one of the weakest travel passports among those sold for investment.
Egypt grants citizenship for investment under a 2019 law, from $250,000. For travel the passport opens very little: Schengen, the UK, the USA and Russia are visa-only, Turkey and the UAE need an e-visa. Its value lies in the right to live and do business in Egypt and the Arab world.

Where you can go visa-free with a Egypt passport
Entry regimes differ in how much preparation the trip needs. Visa-free means the passport is enough and the permitted stay is set at the border. A visa on arrival means a fee and a stamp at the airport or checkpoint. An electronic travel authorisation is a short online form and fee before departure. The Egyptian passport is strongest with regional neighbours, South-East Asia and parts of Africa: Jordan, Iran, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macao, Kenya, Rwanda, Senegal, Guinea, Benin, Togo, the Gambia, Mauritius, South Sudan, Barbados, Dominica, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Haiti and Kiribati are visa-free. Indonesia, Lebanon, the Maldives, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, Tanzania, Mozambique and Tajikistan give a visa on arrival. Sri Lanka, the Seychelles, Ghana and St Kitts and Nevis need an electronic travel authorisation, and Turkey, the UAE, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Qatar, Oman, South Africa, Colombia and the UK an e-visa. It is weak for Schengen, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Russia, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Australia and almost all of Latin America, which require a visa in advance.

An electronic travel authorisation is issued online within minutes or days; an e-visa is also applied for online, but it is a separate consular decision. Schengen, the UK, the USA and Canada
Schengen. A Schengen visa is required, issued by the consulate or visa centre of the country you travel to.
United Kingdom. A visa is required; you apply online and give biometrics at a visa centre.
USA. A visa is required. Egypt has a treaty with the USA for investor visas, but people who gained citizenship by investment receive it only after 3 years of living in Egypt.
Canada. A visa is required, issued at a visa centre with biometrics.
Russia and Asia. Russia, China and Japan require a visa; Malaysia and Hong Kong do not, and Indonesia gives a visa on arrival.

Life and business in Egypt. A citizen lives in the country without visas or permits, buys property and does business on equal terms with locals.
Dual citizenship. Egypt does not require you to give up your first passport.
Military service. Male citizens are liable for 12 to 36 months of military service depending on education, and an unsettled military status can lead to an exit ban. An investor should check this before applying.

How to get a Egypt passport
Egyptian citizenship by investment is granted on one of several routes: a non-refundable contribution from $250,000, property from $300,000 held for 5 years, or a $500,000 deposit for 3 years repaid in Egyptian pounds. The government fee is about $10,000 on filing, and processing takes 6-12 months, longer in practice. You visit Egypt for 2 days when filing and for about a month after approval.
