A St Kitts and Nevis passport opens 157 of 227 destinations without a prior visa: 122 fully visa-free, 27 with a visa on arrival and 8 with an electronic travel authorisation. That is 43 more than the Russian passport, including the Schengen area and the UK.

St Kitts and Nevis runs the world's oldest citizenship by investment programme, in place since 1984. The passport is granted for a contribution to a state fund or the purchase of approved property, with no relocation or language exam, and the country allows dual citizenship.

We will calculate online the full cost for your family: the contribution, fees for each member and due diligence.

Where you can go visa-free with a St Kitts and Nevis passport

Entry regimes differ in how much preparation the trip needs. Visa-free means the passport is enough and the permitted stay is set at the border. A visa on arrival means a fee and a stamp at the airport or checkpoint. An electronic travel authorisation is a short online form and fee before departure. An e-visa is also online but involves a check and a consular decision. A regular visa means a form, documents, often a personal visit to the consulate and waiting for a decision.

A visa in advance is required for the USA, Canada, China, Japan, Turkey, Mexico and Australia.

The table shows the main destinations for travel, living and business, not all 227 countries and territories. An electronic travel authorisation is issued online within minutes or days; an e-visa is also applied for online, but it is a separate consular decision. Entry rules change several times a year: check with an expert for your trip.

Schengen, the UK, the USA and Canada

Schengen. St Kitts and Nevis citizens enter the Schengen area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180. Living and working there require a permit.

United Kingdom. No visa is needed, but an electronic travel authorisation is obtained online before the trip.

USA. A tourist or business visa with a consular interview is required; St Kitts and Nevis is not in the Visa Waiver Program.

Canada. Since 2014 St Kitts and Nevis citizens have needed a Canadian visa.

Asia. Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the Philippines are visa-free, South Korea requires an electronic travel authorisation. China and Japan require a visa.

What else a St Kitts and Nevis passport gives

Dual citizenship. St Kitts and Nevis does not require giving up a previous passport. Citizenship passes to children, and an application covers the spouse, children and parents aged 55 or over.

Taxes. St Kitts and Nevis has no personal income tax. But the passport alone does not change tax residence: taxes are paid where you actually live.

No relocation. Living on the island is not required to obtain or keep citizenship, and the interview can be done online.

Citizens of Russia and Belarus. Since 2022 the Caribbean programmes have not accepted applications from citizens of Russia and Belarus, and a 2023 order closes the programme even to those with a second passport. Open alternatives with a similar timeline are Vanuatu and Turkish citizenship.

How to get a St Kitts and Nevis passport

The main route is a contribution to a state fund from $250,000 for a family of up to 4. Due diligence is paid on top: $10,000 for the main applicant and $7,500 for each family member aged 16 or over. Instead of a contribution you can buy approved property from $325,000 and hold it for 7 years.

The application is filed through a licensed agent, and the mandatory interview can be done online. Processing takes 3-6 months, and the contribution is paid only after preliminary approval, so it is not lost if the checks fail.

Requirements, timelines and documents are on the page St Kitts and Nevis citizenship by investment.

A passport from $250,000, but a failed check costs the most

An application for St Kitts and Nevis citizenship can be filed only through a licensed agent, and the programme checks not just the passport but all citizenships and the country of residence. Mistakes cost more than the contribution: applying with a citizenship from the closed list, source-of-funds documents that fail the check, a visa refusal from a country St Kitts has visa-free travel with. We check eligibility before filing, prepare the documents and the interview and see the application through to the passport.

The cost of support depends on the route and your family; a manager will calculate it in the chat.
