An Antigua and Barbuda passport opens 154 of 227 destinations without a prior visa: 119 fully visa-free, 28 with a visa on arrival and 7 with an electronic travel authorisation. That is 40 more than the Russian passport, including Schengen, the UK, Ireland and China.

The citizenship by investment programme has run since 2013 and suits large families: a single contribution to the state fund from $230,000 covers the whole family. In return the law asks you to spend at least 5 days on the islands in the first 5 years.

We will calculate online the full cost for your family: the contribution, fees for each member and due diligence.

Where you can go visa-free with a Antigua and Barbuda passport

Entry regimes differ in how much preparation the trip needs. Visa-free means the passport is enough and the permitted stay is set at the border. A visa on arrival means a fee and a stamp at the airport or checkpoint. An electronic travel authorisation is a short online form and fee before departure. An e-visa is also online but involves a check and a consular decision. A regular visa means a form, documents, often a personal visit to the consulate and waiting for a decision.

The table shows the main destinations for travel, living and business, not all 227 countries and territories. An electronic travel authorisation is issued online within minutes or days; an e-visa is also applied for online, but it is a separate consular decision. Entry rules change several times a year: check with an expert for your trip.

Schengen, the UK, the USA and Canada

Schengen. Antigua and Barbuda citizens enter the Schengen area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180, and Ireland visa-free too.

United Kingdom. No visa is needed, but an electronic travel authorisation is obtained online before the trip.

USA. A tourist or business visa with a consular interview is required.

Canada. Also a visa: the electronic travel authorisation instead of a visa is not available to Antigua and Barbuda citizens.

Asia. China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines are visa-free, South Korea requires an electronic travel authorisation. Japan requires a visa.

What else a Antigua and Barbuda passport gives

Dual citizenship. Antigua and Barbuda does not require giving up a previous passport, citizenship passes to children, and one contribution covers the whole family.

Taxes. Since 2016 Antigua and Barbuda has had no personal income tax. But the passport alone does not change tax residence: taxes are paid where you actually live.

Minimum presence. The law requires spending at least 5 days on the islands in the first 5 years after citizenship, otherwise the passport may not be renewed.

Citizens of Russia and Belarus. Since 2022 citizens of Russia and Belarus have not been able to take part in the Antigua and Barbuda programme. Open alternatives with a similar timeline are Vanuatu and Turkish citizenship.

How to get a Antigua and Barbuda passport

The main route is a contribution to the state fund from $230,000 for the whole family. On top come a $10,000 processing fee, due diligence from $8,500 for the main applicant and passports at $300 per person; a single applicant's passport through the fund comes to about $248,800. Instead of a contribution you can buy approved property from $300,000 and hold it for 5 years.

The application is filed through a licensed agent, and processing takes 3-6 months.

$230,000 for the whole family, but the 5 days on the islands are most often forgotten

An application for Antigua and Barbuda citizenship can be filed only through a licensed agent, and the programme checks all of the applicant's citizenships and country of residence. Mistakes cost more than the contribution: applying with a citizenship from the closed list, source-of-funds documents that fail the check, missing the 5 days on the islands, which can block renewal of the passport. We check eligibility, see the application through to the passport and remind you about the presence requirement.

The cost of support depends on the route and your family; a manager will calculate it in the chat.
