Digital Nomad Visa in Antigua and Barbuda
Up to two years of legal stay for self-employed people and employees working for a company outside the country. 0% tax on income.

Antigua and Barbuda lets remote workers and freelancers legally live on the islands for up to two years, with no local tax on income.
Visa conditions
- Who can apply. Foreign nationals who are self-employed or work for companies outside Antigua and Barbuda.
- Duration. Up to two years.
- Minimum income. Proof of annual income of at least $50,000, plus the ability to support yourself and dependents.
- Taxes. 0% - income is not taxed locally.
Cost of living
Estimated monthly expenses for a family of four are about $4,000, excluding rent. For a single person, about $1,200, excluding rent. Renting a one-bedroom flat in the city centre starts at $1,000 a month.
How much the visa costs in 2026
The government fee for the remote worker visa is non-refundable, even if the visa is refused:
- single applicant - $1,500;
- couple - $2,000;
- family - from $3,000.
On top of the fee come health insurance for the whole stay, police certificates and document translation. You can live on the islands for up to two years from the date of approval.
Who can get the visa
- the applicant is 18 or older;
- works remotely for a company outside Antigua and Barbuda or runs their own business registered abroad;
- has an annual income of at least $50,000, enough to support everyone included in the visa;
- has no criminal record;
- has health insurance covering medical treatment and travel risks.
A spouse, children under 18 and in some cases elderly parents can be included in the application.
We will check online whether your income is enough with your family included and calculate the visa cost for each member.
Documents to apply
- A colour photo and a copy of the passport data page for each family member.
- Birth certificates.
- Police certificates for adults.
- Proof of employment and income: an employer letter, client contracts, bank statements.
- Marriage and relationship documents if family members are included.
- A health insurance policy for the whole stay.
Documents in other languages are translated into English.
How the application works
The application is filed entirely online with the Antigua and Barbuda Immigration Department, where you pay the fee and upload documents. The answer comes by email; applicants report it takes about a week. After approval you can enter and live on the islands for up to two years.
Taxes for visa holders
Antigua and Barbuda has had no personal income tax since 2016, so a remote worker's foreign income is not taxed there. But the visa does not remove obligations to the country where you remain tax resident. Russia, for example, treats as resident anyone who spends 183 days or more there within 12 consecutive months and taxes their worldwide income. So before moving, work out where you will be tax resident in the year of the move.
What the visa does not give you
- You cannot work for companies or clients in Antigua and Barbuda: income must come only from abroad.
- The visa does not lead to citizenship. A passport is granted under the citizenship by investment programme.
Antigua and neighbouring islands compared
| Country | Term | Annual income from | Fee for one |
|---|---|---|---|
| Antigua and Barbuda | up to 2 years | $50,000 | $1,500 |
| Barbados | 12 months, renewable | $50,000 | $2,000 |
| Montserrat | up to 12 months, renewable | $70,000 | $500 |
Antigua wins on term: two years on one visa without renewal, while in Barbados and Montserrat the status has to be renewed every year. Montserrat is cheaper on fees but requires a higher income.
