Amounts checked: 2026-10-06
Antigua and Barbuda charges the contribution once for the whole family, and only the fees grow. It does not accept applications from Russian and Belarusian citizens. Their open options are Vanuatu citizenship and Turkish citizenship.
For everyone else a single applicant's passport through the fund costs about $248,800: the contribution, the processing fee, due diligence and the passport. Below are all the cost items, family amounts, timelines and what happens on refusal.
What the cost is made of
| Cost item | Amount | Who pays |
|---|---|---|
| Government fund contribution | from $230,000 | main applicant |
| Processing fee | $10,000 | once per application |
| Main applicant due diligence | $8,500 | once per application |
| Passport | $300 | each family member |
| Approved real estate instead of the contribution | from $300,000, held 5 years | main applicant |
| Business investment instead of the contribution | from $1,500,000 | main applicant |
| University of the West Indies fund contribution | $260,000, an option for large families | whole family |
| Processing fee for the fifth and further family members | $10,000 | each beyond four |
| Medical certificates, apostilles and translations | from $300 | each family member |
Fees and due diligence are paid on filing, and the contribution only after approval. Buying property adds transaction taxes and charges.
Applications go only through a licensed agent: the citizenship by investment unit does not accept them directly.
The contribution is $230,000 for the whole family, but you pay it only after approval
The biggest losses in the Antigua and Barbuda programme come not from the contribution but from fees on refusal: $10,000-20,000 in processing and due diligence for each family member are not refunded. Refusals come from unproven source of funds, a concealed visa refusal or citizenship of a restricted country. Murblz checks eligibility before filing, prepares source-of-funds documents and prepares you for the interview.
How much Antigua and Barbuda citizenship costs per family member
The $230,000 National Development Fund contribution is one per family. The fees grow instead: processing is $10,000 for one person and $20,000 for a family of up to four, while due diligence and passports are paid per person.

How much it costs for a family of 2, 3 and 4
| Family | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Two adults | from $249,100 |
| Two adults and a child | from $249,400 |
| Two adults and two children | from $249,700 |
The $230,000 contribution is one per family. The processing fee is $10,000 for one and $20,000 for a family of up to four. Due diligence depends on age: from $8,500 for the applicant down to nothing for children under 12. The passport is $300 per person.
What the cost does not include
- medical certificates and tests;
- apostilles, translations and police certificates;
- taxes and charges on a property purchase, if you take that route;
- the trip to the islands for the required 5 days after citizenship;
- flights, if you choose to attend the interview in person.
Timeline by step
| Step | Time |
|---|---|
| Pre-check: eligibility and source of funds | 1-2 weeks |
| Filing through a licensed agent and paying fees | 2-4 weeks |
| Due diligence and interview | 2-4 months |
| Approval and payment of the contribution | after the checks |
| Oath, citizenship certificate and passport | 2-4 weeks |
The whole path usually takes 3-6 months. After citizenship you must spend at least 5 days in the country within the first 5 years.
Is money refunded if you are refused
The fund contribution is paid only after approval, so it is not lost if due diligence fails. Processing and due diligence fees are not refunded.
On refusal the property stays yours, but for the programme it must be held 5 years.
Comparison with neighbouring programmes
| Country | Route | Minimum for one | Time | Dual citizenship |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dominica | Fund contribution or real estate | from $210,000 | 3-6 months | allowed |
| Grenada | Government fund contribution | from $244,000 | 4-9 months | allowed |
| Vanuatu | Government fund contribution under the DSP | from $135,000 | Usually 1-3 months | allowed |
For a family of four or more Antigua is usually cheaper than its neighbours because the contribution does not grow with the family. Dominica is cheaper for a single applicant. Caribbean programmes are closed to Russian and Belarusian citizens; the open alternative with a similar timeline is Vanuatu.
What changed for the Antigua and Barbuda passport in 2026
Since 1 January 2026 the US has suspended tourist, business, student and immigrant visas for citizens of Antigua and Barbuda. Visas already issued remain valid, and people holding another passport are not affected.
On 30 December 2025 new EU rules on the visa suspension mechanism took effect: a citizenship by investment programme became one of the grounds for a review. So weigh the good family price against where the passport takes you today.
What Russian and Belarusian citizens can do
Russian and Belarusian citizens cannot take part in the Antigua and Barbuda programme. A second passport for investment is open to them in Vanuatu, with no trip and in a few months, and in Turkey through a property purchase.
Documents and where to get them
- passports, birth and marriage certificates with apostilles;
- police certificates from your country of citizenship and every country where you lived more than 6 months;
- a medical certificate and tests;
- proof of source of funds: statements, asset sale contracts, tax returns;
- a bank reference;
- photos and forms for each family member.
Documents in other languages are translated into English. Certificates older than three to six months are usually asked to be replaced.
