In detail

Money is sent to Sudan in dollars to the recipient's account at a Sudanese bank or through a money transfer company, and exchanged into pounds at the bank's rate. In 2026 Sudan's commercial banks bought the dollar at an average of 3,748.21 pounds, 37% more than at the end of January. The recipient needs the account number, the bank's name and their name.

The pound rate at Sudanese banks: more pounds per dollar every month

The Central Bank of Sudan publishes once a month the average rate at which commercial banks buy and sell the dollar. In 2026 the rate rises almost every month:

DateBank buys the dollarBank sells the dollar
31 January 20262,740.042,766.47
28 February 20262,892.682,918.43
30 June 20263,361.753,400.75
31 July 20263,551.873,581.01
31 August 20263,748.213,789.50

Pounds per dollar, monthly reviews of the Central Bank of Sudan. Anyone receiving dollars from abroad gains: at the end of January a bank exchanged $1,000 for 2,740,040 pounds, and at the end of August for 3,748,210. So dollars in an account are better exchanged as they are spent, not on the day of crediting.

How the capital works is described in the Khartoum guide.

Does your bank not send payments to Sudan, or is a transfer stuck on a check? There are usually more options than it seems: a manager will choose a working legal route for your country and sum.

Prices in Sudan are rising more slowly: 26.1% instead of 68.2%

The second piece of good news for the recipient is slowing price growth. According to the Central Bank of Sudan, annual inflation more than halved during 2026:

End of monthAnnual inflation
December 202568.2%
March 202640.2%
July 202641.6%
August 202626.1%

From January to August the dollar rate at banks rose by 37%, while prices in the year to August rose by 26.1%. So a dollar transfer today buys a family in Sudan more food, medicine and rent than the same transfer at the start of the year.

We will help you send money to Sudan

Mistakes cost more than fees: dollars exchanged into pounds on the day of crediting and losing out as the rate rises, a payment purpose without family support or medical care stated, a transfer sent through a chain of banks and stuck on a check, a bank without papers on the origin of the money. We will help you avoid them: we choose a legal transfer route from your country, check the transfer for your case, prepare documents on the origin of the money and carry out the transfer through licensed partners through to crediting.

Details and terms are with a manager in the chat: the calculation depends on the sum, the purpose of the transfer and the sending country.
