The UK Global Talent Visa is a special visa category for those who have achieved certain results in science, digital technology, arts and culture and would like to move to the UK to work in the relevant field.
The visa can be obtained by professionals who have exceptional potential and a desire to develop in their chosen field in the UK.
How do I get a talent visa?
A 'portfolio' of your achievements will be required to prove talent. This could be grants for academics, publications or exhibitions for cultural workers, or you could be a founder or key employee in a technology company. Both EU and third country nationals can apply for a visa. Knowledge of English and proof of income are optional. If you do not have an established public profile, additional PR work may be required with specialists to build your case.
The visa is divided into two categories:
Promise Suitable for those who are at the beginning of their professional journey. Applicants do not necessarily need to have a large number of awards and achievements. At least 5 years of successful development in the chosen field is sufficient.
Talent In this category it is important to have your talent recognized by the professional community, awards and achievements. Applicants must have worked in their chosen field for more than 5 years. The main difference between these categories: Exceptional Talent entitles you to apply for a Permanent Residence Permit (IRL) after 3 years, while in the Exceptional Promise category you can only do so after 5 years.
