The goal

The family was particularly interested in Paraguay for its business environment and its potential as a long-term base in South America. However, coordinating immigration procedures for five family members was not simple: the application required documents from different authorities, careful planning of the family's visit and coordination with local institutions.

How to get permanent residency in Paraguay

There are two routes to permanent residency in Paraguay: directly, with an investment of $70,000 or more in a business with 5 jobs, or after up to 2 years of temporary residence without an investment. At home, applicants gather police certificates, birth and marriage certificates and 3 months of bank statements, all with an apostille. In Paraguay they get an entry stamp, Interpol and police certificates and sworn translations. Each family member pays the fee. Permanent residency is cancelled only after more than 3 consecutive years outside the country, and after 3 years of living there with it you can apply for citizenship.
