How an entrepreneur from Mexico set up a company and a bank account in the USA

Carlos is a Mexican entrepreneur who runs a digital services company. In recent years his business has grown significantly in the US market.

The goal

Operating only from Mexico caused difficulties with international payments, contracts and relationships with some corporate clients. Carlos contacted Murblz to explore setting up a business structure in the USA.

How a non-resident can open a US company

The laws of Delaware, Wyoming and Florida do not require the owner or manager of an LLC to be a US citizen or resident. The only requirement is a registered agent with an office in the state of registration. The state fee to form an LLC ranges from $100 in Wyoming to $125 in Florida, the EIN tax number is free, and the whole registration can be done remotely. An in-person visit may be needed only for a traditional bank. The company itself does not give the right to enter or live in the USA.

What we did

We reviewed his business needs, handled the formation of the US company, prepared the corporate documents and helped apply for a business bank account. We also explained the company's main administrative and tax obligations. For example, a single-member LLC owned by a foreigner files Form 5472 with a pro forma Form 1120 every year.

Successful outcome

Carlos successfully set up his US company and opened a corporate account for his international operations. The new structure helped him organise his business better and work directly with US clients.
