Personal accounts: Kazakhstan

An honest assessment before work starts, the quote is fixed in writing.

We assess your chances against your profile, prepare the compliance file, help you present your source of funds properly and handle communication with the bank until it decides. The final decision always rests with the bank, and careful preparation improves the odds.

We quote the exact cost for this country after a short consultation: it depends on the bank and your residency. The quote is fixed in writing before work starts.

A tax resident is someone who spent 183 days in Kazakhstan in any 12 months, with entry and exit days counted. A resident pays tax on worldwide income and declares foreign accounts.

The account and residence

Since 13 February 2026 residence has been granted on points: a Kazakh language test, questionnaire, checks and an interview, and KZT 5.7 million, about $12,600, must be held at a local bank. E-residency gives a number and access to financial services but no right to live in the country. The rate is the National Bank of Kazakhstan's on 6 October 2026.

Registration and length of stay

A foreigner's registration is filed not by them but by the host: the flat owner, hotel or employer, via the e-government portal. Overstaying under Article 517 of the Administrative Offences Code: up to 3 days - a warning, 3 to 5 days - 10 monthly calculation indices, KZT 43,250, about $100, 5 to 10 days - 15, over 10 days - 25 indices or removal.

Returns for holders of foreign accounts

From 2026 not everyone files returns, only those with grounds, such as holders of foreign accounts and property abroad. The asset and income returns are due by 15 September of the following year.
