Solomon Islands citizenship by investment in 2026: program status and what works now
The government is preparing a citizenship by investment law: the draft has been ready since September 2024, and the amount and launch date will come with the law. What is known about the program, how to become a citizen today and which passports by investment take 1 to 12 months.
Solomon Islands citizenship by investment is being prepared in 2026: the government finished the draft law in September 2024, and the contribution and launch date will be announced with the law. If you need a second passport now, programs that work today include Nauru at $90,000, Vanuatu from $130,000 and five Caribbean countries from $200,000.
Data checked on 14 October 2026.
Can you get Solomon Islands citizenship by investment in 2026?
The program is in preparation: applications will open once Parliament passes the law and the government officially launches intake. In April 2025 the Office of the Prime Minister confirmed that the legal and operational framework was still being developed and asked the public to rely only on the official launch announcement.
The law follows this path: draft, review by the Attorney General's Chambers, Cabinet decision, public consultation, tabling in Parliament and a vote. In September 2024 Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele told Parliament that the first draft was complete and under review before going to Cabinet. In 2026, no tabling of the bill has been announced.

What is known about the future program?
- Investors and their family members will receive an ordinary Solomon Islands passport after strict checks on their background and source of funds.
- The aim is to attract investment into the economy and add to state revenue.
- The law will go to public consultation before it is tabled in Parliament.
- The government is studying the experience of neighbouring countries, above all Vanuatu, and promises a program under tight state control.
- The contribution, timelines and document list will be announced together with the law.
New programs open with detailed rules: a minimum amount, a document list and a vetting procedure. We follow the bill and will tell our clients the day applications open.
Does the Solomon Islands allow dual citizenship?
Yes. Since 2018 the constitution has allowed dual citizenship: that year Parliament passed a constitutional amendment and a new Citizenship Act, and the Act was amended again in July 2023. You keep your current passport when you become a citizen, and citizens by birth who lost their citizenship can resume it.
How can you become a Solomon Islands citizen today?
Through naturalisation, based on time lived in the country. The main conditions of the Citizenship Act 2018:
- age 18 or over;
- lawful residence in the country for at least 5 of the 10 years before the application;
- living in the country when you apply and intending to stay or keep a close and continuing connection with it;
- good character;
- an oath of allegiance after approval.

The route starts with a residence permit, for example through work or your own business in the country. It takes longer than an investment program, but the passport comes under the general law and you keep your current citizenship.
Which citizenship by investment programs work now?
While the Solomon Islands program is being prepared, a second passport by investment is available in neighbouring Pacific countries, the Caribbean and Egypt. Amounts are the minimum contribution for a single applicant in 2026, before fees and checks.
| Country | Minimum contribution | Timeline | Visa-free destinations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nauru | $90,000 if you apply by 31 December 2026, then $115,000 | 3-4 months | 85+ |
| Vanuatu | from $130,000 | 1-3 months | 86 |
| Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Saint Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis | from $200,000 | 4-9 months | 140-157, including Schengen |
| Egypt | from $250,000 | 6-12 months | 49 |

We will help you get a second passport
We will pick a program for your goal and budget, check your documents before filing, prepare the source-of-funds file and support the application until the passport is issued. If you are waiting for the Solomon Islands, we will tell you the day applications open.
Details and cost are with a manager in the chat: everything depends on the country, your family and the timeline.
What should you choose while the program is prepared?
- You need a passport fast on a modest budget: Vanuatu or Nauru, 1 to 4 months without relocating.
- Visa-free travel to Europe matters: the Caribbean programs, whose passports open Schengen.
- You want to wait for the Solomon Islands: leave a request, and we will tell you about the launch and prepare in advance the documents any such program needs: police certificates and proof of income and source of funds.
A second passport does not stop you from getting a third: neither the Solomon Islands nor the countries in the table ask you to give up your current citizenship. That is why many people get a passport now and come back to the new program once it launches.
