Under the new law, crypto exchanges wishing to operate legally in the country must obtain a license from the Capital Markets Board, Turkey's financial regulator and supervisory authority.

Crypto providers will also be responsible for carrying out enforcement measures such as asset freezes. In addition, platforms must ensure that law enforcement has access to client fund transactions, including deposits and withdrawals.

🇬🇷 Greece: a six-day working week is now permitted

From July 1, employers in certain sectors in Greece are allowed to introduce a six-day working week with monetary compensation. Under the law, many employees will not be able to decline the additional hours.

Staff will receive a 40% premium for the extra hours worked on the sixth day. If that day falls on a Sunday or public holiday, the employee is entitled to a supplement of up to 115% of their daily wage. The new legislation also prohibits working more than eight hours on the sixth day of the week.

🇷🇴 Romania: citizenship law amended, Romanian language now mandatory

What has changed by autumn 2026

Since this issue was published, several items have had important follow-ups. Below is where things stand in autumn 2026.

Australia: the student visa got more expensive again

After rising from AUD 710 to AUD 1,600 in July 2024, the student visa fee was raised again: since 1 July 2025 it has been AUD 2,000, about $1,400, and it is not refunded on refusal. It is the most expensive student visa fee in the world.

Moldova: visa-free travel for Russians remains

A visa regime with Russia was discussed but has not been introduced as of 2026: Russian citizens still enter Moldova visa-free and may stay up to 90 days.

Romania: language for citizenship got stricter

The requirement to know Romanian introduced by the 2024 amendments became a full exam: restoring citizenship for descendants requires Romanian at B1, and checks of archive documents and biometrics became stricter. More on the Romanian citizenship page. Since 2025 citizenship has been restored only with language skills, and in September 2026 a bill was introduced in the Senate that could remove this right for grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

FAQ

How long does family sponsorship take in Canada?
Processing depends on the province and the relationship, and Quebec separately caps how many sponsorship applications it accepts - once the cap is used up, waits stretch out. The sponsor must be a citizen or permanent resident and takes on financial obligations for years. Caps and processing times are updated regularly, so check official timelines before filing.
How long is a Grenada passport valid?
Grenada issues adult passports valid for 10 years, and the government fee went up along with the longer validity. The passport is mainly of interest through the citizenship by investment programme and Grenada's E-2 treaty with the US. Programme terms and fees are revised, including region wide pricing rules in the Caribbean, so confirm before applying.
Do you need a visa for Moldova?
It depends on your passport. Moldova has floated introducing visas for Russian citizens, and plans like this get announced and postponed depending on politics. Even where entry stays visa free, the border officer decides on admission and may ask about your purpose, bookings and funds. Murblz specialists check the rules for your travel dates on a consultation.
Is crypto legal in Turkey?
Turkey brought crypto exchanges under licensing: platforms must be authorised by the capital markets regulator, and operating without a licence carries heavy fines and prison terms. Paying for goods with crypto remains restricted, and customer identification requirements keep tightening. Use licensed platforms and keep your reporting in order.
How much is an Australian student visa in 2026?
AUD 2,000, about $1,400, since 1 July 2025; the fee is non-refundable.
Do you need a visa for Moldova in 2026?
It depends on your passport. Russian citizens, for example, enter visa-free and may stay up to 90 days.
Is Romanian needed to restore citizenship?
Yes, since 2025 Romanian at B1 is required; citizenship is not restored to descendants without the exam.
