How to get Canadian permanent residence with a Russian passport

Canadian programmes have no separate bans on Russian citizens, but entry and every stage require a visa, and background checks for Russians often take longer. The main routes to permanent residence:

• Federal skilled selection. Points for age, education, experience and language, with invitations after regular draws.
• Provincial programmes. A province nominates you for its labour market, followed by a federal decision.
